StockTwits is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our New York City engineering team. The goal is to design and implement tools and systems to minimize the time and effort necessary for all engineers to build and scale the world's largest social network for investors and traders.
The ideal candidate has a mixture of development and operations experience, a passion for building automated systems that deploy and monitor complicated cloud-based applications, and a dedication to infrastructure as code with organizational structure that fosters collaboration.
5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management and the delivery + management of highly available software
Experience with containers and container orchestration systems (we use Docker and Kubernetes)
Experience in designing and implementing reliable monitoring and alerting solutions
Ability to program with one or more languages (Ruby, Go, Python, etc.)
Expertise building and managing scalable production infrastructure in AWS
In-depth knowledge of linux administration and systems programming (we use ubuntu)
Experience with modern JS build chain and related tools (i.e. npm, yarn, pm2, etc)
Proficiency with version control using git
BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, engineering, or related field
NICE TO HAVES
Experience with continuous integration and deployment systems (CI/CD using jenkins)
Experience with microservices architectures
Experience administering Elasticsearch and Kibana
Experience with CloudFormation -based AWS deployments
Experience working with automated release management.
Production level experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
Experience building and supporting backend and infrastructure systems
Experience with Ruby on Rails
